Danielle Amoako
I’m Danielle, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to creating a warm and compassionate space for adults, teens, and couples. My passion is helping clients gain self-awareness, connect with truth, and heal. In therapy, I strive to foster curiosity, challenge unhealthy patterns, and highlight strengths—so that each person feels truly seen and heard. I aim to help clients cultivate compassion, embrace growth, and step into their most authentic selves.
As someone who has navigated the complexities of being bicultural, I understand the challenges of finding belonging and breaking free from patterns like people-pleasing. My own journey of self-discovery—learning to challenge internalized messages, stay grounded in my values, and embrace differentiation—deepens my empathy and informs my work. I hope to support my clients in finding clarity, confidence, and self-acceptance on their own journeys.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a Master’s in Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University.
My experience as a mental health rehabilitation specialist allowed me to support parents and guardians in addressing their children’s behavioral challenges. This, along with my broader professional experiences, has deepened my understanding of diverse populations and strengthened my ability to support individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy creative pursuits, walks with my dog, thrifting, and competitive rounds of Bananagrams. And when I need a good laugh, I’m probably rewatching New Girl—again.

Our Values

Growth
At Well Rooted Therapy, our work is grounded in five core values: Truth, Collaboration, Compassion, Authenticity, and Growth. We believe in fighting against the lies that distort identity, guiding clients to uncover and embrace their true selves. Therapy is not about being 'fixed'—it's a collaborative process where we journey together toward healing. Compassion is at the heart of this work, helping clients learn to respond to themselves with care rather than self-criticism. Authenticity is key; while the world often pressures us to filter our experiences, this space is about showing up honestly, free from judgment. Finally, growth requires challenge. Many clients have felt unseen in therapy, but here, we embrace the hard conversations—pointing out blind spots, encouraging deeper awareness, and empowering real change.
